OK. So yet another photo essay. I happened to visit Agra on my extended weekend last month and of course the main attraction was the Taj Mahal, the photos of which are subject of my next post. For the moment I am just scanning/uploading my prints of Agra fort, or Red fort. All these pics were taken with my 28-80 mm zoom Nikon lens using an SLR in manual mode. Most of the pics have used a polarizing filter…that may explain rich colors. Also since the main aim while shooting was to get the monuments, I have freely used wide angle (28mm). This may give the appearence of buildings falling back, but then I think that adds to charm!! And yes I use a film camera :-D

Though usually I am not a big history guy, I think I should write this for everyone especially my fellow countrymen. The Red fort at Agra has been constructed not by one king, but every Mughal king from Babar to Aurangzeb have contributed to it. And now the sad part :-( The Agra fort originally contained about 500 buildings each a marvel in its own sense, but those damn britishers demolished all the monumnets for what??? Guess?? For building barracks!!! Assholes :-O They have made us loose a big part of our heritage which certainly was heavens above their stupid architectural designs, which they so foolishingly boast of in their crappy church and castle designs.

Anyways, back to photos. If you are an Englishmen feeling greatly offended by this and want to bash me, just think with a cool head before. Destroying these marvels would have hurt less, if instead of them something comparable in personna would have been raised. But BARRACKS!!! Certainly Indian heritage deserved better…
